About Us
YourDivorceQuestions.org was developed by organizations and individuals led by Professor Alan Hawkins, Ph.D., who is the Director of the Marriage Education and Research Initiative at Brigham Young University (BYU) in Provo, Utah. He is a nationally recognized scholar on educational efforts to help couples form and sustain healthy marriages. He also teaches divorce orientation education classes in his community.
The Institute for Family Studies, in Charlottesville, Virginia, directed by Dr. Brad Wilcox and Dr. Rich Brake, provides financial and technical support for this website.
Rachel Hill, Shaundi Tolman, David Simpson, Elizabeth Daley, Lindsey LeBaron, Eulalia Miles, and other students at BYU helped Professor Hawkins build this website.
Much of the website’s content has been adapted from the book:
Should I Try to Work It Out? A Guidebook for Individuals and Couples at the Crossroads of Divorce, by Dr. Alan Hawkins.
Co-authors of the book include:
Dr. Tamara Fackrell, who is a divorce attorney and mediator
Dr. Steve Harris, who directs the Marriage and Family Therapy program and the Minnesota Couples on the Brink project at the University of Minnesota
